I’ve been an artist my entire life, and I'm mesmerized by the interplay of light and shadow, vibrant true colors, and rich, diverse textures. My photography aims to forever freeze this beautiful life you've created, so you can linger later.
I'm lucky to be married to my high school sweetheart. Together, we’ve built a lively home filled with pets, plants, and plenty of love. Our greatest adventure is the one we share with our precious daughter, who fills our lives with joy.

VIE noun /vee/ French for "life;" evoking vitality and the richness of human experience
ARTISTRY noun /ˈɑr.tə.stri/ creativity, skill, and the ability to craft something beautiful
"Vie" is also a tribute to my surname, Sie·vie·c—a connection to my past, present, and future. It reflects everything from the charming man I married and the beautiful, often chaotic life we’re building together, to the day our daughter may contribute her own creativity to this family venture. At its heart, Vie Artistry is more than a name; it’s a philosophy. It embodies my passion for noticing and preserving the small, fleeting moments that make up a life well-lived. I believe in transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary, capturing the candid moments that might otherwise be forgotten.
My photography is about documenting moments that feel real—the kind that make it seem as if you could reach out and touch those you love through the image. I believe in true-to-life edits that stand the test of time, evoking a soft, dreamlike quality without sacrificing authenticity. No stiff poses. No forced smiles. Just honest, heartfelt images. A series of play-based prompts and connective poses ensure you'll relax and immerse yourself in the present moment. The result? With a degree in art and a decade of experience as a visual arts educator, I’ve spent my life immersed in creative storytelling. Teaching gave me a deep appreciation for observation, and connection—skills that now shape the way I capture families. I want you to remember the way your child's small hands fit in yours, the unfiltered joy of a belly laugh, and the quiet moments of transition that often go unnoticed. Sydney earned a Bachelor of Science in Art from Radford University, graduating summa cum laude and receiving the Outstanding Graduate Award from the College of Visual and Performing Arts. She dedicated a decade to teaching K-8 Visual Arts in Virginia and North Carolina public schools, where she was honored as Teacher of the Year in 2020. After three years serving as the Assistant Director of the Foothills Arts Center, she transitioned to a leadership role on their Board of Directors to focus more fully on her growing photography business.
She is an active associate member of Professional Photographers of America. Passionate about lifelong learning, she has embarked on courses offered by nationally and internationally renowned photographers, including the Milkyway Newborn Retreat, Iwona Podlasinska’s Magical Childhood Moments, and Michelle McKay’s The Everything Newborn Course and Telling Stories and Making Meaning. Through her work, Sydney strives to create imagery that is both intentional and deeply emotive, capturing the art of everyday moments.

ETCHED IN TIME
These intricate etchings, designed by acclaimed flower painter Jean-Baptiste Monnoyer (French, 1636–99), were then engraved by Jean-Jacques Vauquer (French, active 1660–90).
The most notable collection of these engravings was published by Nicolas de Poilly of Paris, in a book entitled "Livre de Toutes Sortes De Fleurs D'apres Nature."
This exquisite work is impressive in both the elaborate detail, the composition, and the noteworthy fact that many of the flowers weren't in bloom simultaneously.
